WHY YOGA ?

When you utter the word yoga, everyone has a notation of what it could be or should be. One of the first things that people normally think of yoga is that it means standing on your head, and normal means standing on your feet. Yoga is not about doing anything in particular. It is a way of being. It is certain way in which a person can be. That is yoga.

Yoga is not an Exercise – Yoga needs to be practiced in a very subtle, gentle way, not in a forceful muscle building way, because it is not about exercise. The physical body has a whole memory structure. If you are willing to read this physical body, everything – how this cosmos evolved from nothingness to this point – is written into body. Yoga is a way of opening up that memory and trying to restructure this life towards an ultimate possibility. It is very subtle and scientific process.

WHAT IS HATHA YOGA

The meaning of the word Hatha is: “ha” means sun, “ta” means moon. Hatha yoga means the sun and the moon yoga. We are talking about the “Ida” and “Pingala”- the sun and moon within yourself. Hatha Yoga is a whole science of bringing a balance between sun and moon. Once a person has desire to experience higher level of energy, then it is very essential to keep this Ha and Ta in a balanced state. Whatever maybe the external situations, if you can maintain an inner balance without any sufferings, this is Hatha yoga.
